Panoramic balconies of the Col Margherita
Extraordinary panoramic balconies on the surrounding Dolomites, made of natural stone and equipped with illustrative panels of all the peaks, also have pointers dedicated to the observation of specific peaks.
This is the point of arrival of a wonderful excursion that, starting from Falcade, climbs to the San Pellegrino Pass, where once the car has been left the car goes up with the Col Margherita cable car towards the homonymous relief. A few steps to reach the top and here are the panoramic balconies. There are four observation points arranged in the different cardinal points that allow us to recognize all the peaks that stand out in front of us. The Col Margherita is part of a huge porphyritic platform formed by volcanoclastic ashes hundreds of millions of years ago and which today is striking for the characterization of the almost lunar landscape.
In summer from Falcade it is possible to reach the departure point of the cable car by public transport or by car. The ascent by cable car is thrilling and spectacular. From the summit for the more active there are interesting walks at altitude, or it is possible to use the comfortable deckchairs of the adjacent refuge to enjoy the sun in an incomparable theater.
